……..You’re only in it for the money.

Yes it’s true folks, if you’ve just decided to start an online business with the sole purpose of making money then I can tell you right now…..IT’S DOOMED TO FAIL IN THE END!!

“What the hell are you talking about Eddy, surely we’re all in it to make money” you might be saying this after reading that comment and yes…of course we’re all here to make money but what I’m saying is that it shouldn’t JUST be about making money it should also be about providing value and contributing to society as well….let me explain.

I’ve just finished reading a fantastic little book called ‘The Go Giver’ which has had a really profound effect on me and confirmed a few things that I always new to be true.

The book is basically a modern day parable about an ambitious young man named Joe who is desperate to become successful and make lots of money. However, nothing he does seems to have any effect until he comes into contact with a high flying business consultant who teaches him that the secret of success is actually just to ‘give’.

The book goes on to explain how ‘giving’ and putting others interests above one’s own and adding value to their lives leads to unexpected returns.

After reading the book I was filled with excitement because it makes perfect sense and confirms what I’ve always known to be true.

Now, don’t get me wrong…..I’m not talking about karma or spirituality here and this book is not in the same vein as ‘The Secret’ ….to be honest I really cannot abide that kind of wishy washy New Age rubbish, No, this book makes perfect logical sense and I’ll give you an example straight from the book which explains why.

Most of us are brought up to believe that it is better to give than to receive right? but that is nonsense, receiving is the natural result of giving and you only have to look at Mother Nature to see examples of this happening every day.

All over the world right at this moment, all of humanity is breathing out carbon dioxide and breathing in oxygen, and also at the very same time this is happening millions of organisms in the plant kingdom are doing the exact opposite and breathing OUT oxygen…..they’re giving is our receiving and our giving is their receiving.

So if you take this example and apply it to business, this is what everyone should be aiming to do, give something valuable that enhances someones life and contributes to society in some way, no matter how small.

As I said earlier, I’ve always known this to be true, in a way it’s one of the things that has prevented me from just ‘cashing in’ and making a fast buck from Internet marketing because I’ll be honest with you right now….I could easily have done this.

I work in the IM business and have connections and access to people with huge mailing lists so I could have easily cobbled together some kind of product, approached the right people and asked them to do a mail out to their list of subscribers for me and I would have made some quick money.

However, this is wrong on so many levels.

I’ve been interested in making money and online ventures for many years now and I always had ambitions of creating my own product to sell to other people in the making money niche but I could never do this because basically I couldn’t justify selling something that I didn’t have any success with myself.

This is the problem with so many marketers these days, they don’t use the systems they are selling themselves. They are just selling theories and ideas at best and at worst they are just outright scammers and liars.

I’m so proud to be able to say that I am honestly using the very same system in my everyday life  that I am selling to other people.

My Guru Buddy System is a proven method of earning a realistic income and I actually use it myself…..how many marketers and so called gurus can honestly claim that?

So, in this spirit of giving I have an announcement to make….The next IM product I make I am going to give away completely for free.

I have an idea for a small ebook that I think the IM market really needs, and newbies in particular need to have this information. I’m not going to give away too much right now and to be honest I haven’t even started writing the book yet but I’ll keep you all updated on this blog.

Until then I urge you all to go and grab a copy of the ‘Go Giver’ read it and take action.
