Gis a job!! . . . . please!!

Well the credit crunch has bitten it’s razor sharp teeth into my behind and left me jobless. After 9 years of working for Johnston Press Newspaper Group I’ve been consigned to the scrapheap, ah well never mind, like they say ‘As one door closes another one slams in your face’ πŸ™‚

So I’m job hunting again after 9 years and it was really weird going back to the job centre to sign on again after all this time, everything is so different. Gone are the endless rows of job description cards posted up on the wall and in their place are rows of mini touch screen computers like something out of Minority Report.

Some things never change though, and there still lurks the pathetic figure of the dole scrounger spewing forth there excuses as to why they cannot work or have failed to find a job – I’m sure it must be easier just to get a job than to keep coming up with ever more elaborate excuses as to why one cannot work.

Oh well, hopefully it wont be long before I find gainful employment again or better still – my Internet marketing projects take off in a big way then I could escape the rat race for good πŸ™‚

You’ve got to have a dream eh!!

Wow, I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope it wasn’t just a few days before Christmas. Like my last job – they laid off my whole group just a week before Christmas!

Good luck with the jobsearch πŸ™‚

Hello Gwen and thanks for commenting.

December 12th they laid us off – bah humbug!!

At least the MD is ok, he retires next year on a fat pension so that’s nice.

Ah well, not to worry, it just reinforces my belief that working in a job has no guarantees and we should all strive to find our own sources of income.

All the best and Happy New Year!! πŸ™‚
