First Post of 2011!!

Happy New Year everyone!

I know it’s a little late in the day and I’ve been a little quiet lately so I apologise for that but I do have a good excuse …which I’ll tell you about later.

I hope you all had a cracking good holiday and are all fired up for the new year ahead, I know that I certainly am and I’ve got some great things that I want to achieve for my business as well as some personal goals as well… some of which you may be able to relate to.

One of which is to lose some weight, I rather (ahem) over indulged in the food and drink department over the holiday period and forgot the fact that I can’t burn off the calories as fast as I used to in my youth, so one of my goals is to try and lose 2 stone.

I haven’t set myself a time limit and am not really following any particular faddy diet plan – don’t believe in them – I’m just making a determined effort to eat more healthily with smaller portions , drink a lot less alcohol and move my fat behind around a bit more ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ll keep you updated on this blog and if you’re stomach can take it, I may even post some before and after pictures on here (shudders at the thought) so you (and I) can see how how far I’ve come.

My next plan for 2011 is to prepare the back garden and install a large dog kennel and run – both Amanda (my partner) and I are avid dog lovers and it’s always been a goal of ours to own a couple of dogs….plus now that we are both able to work from home this will be much easier to do and we won’t have to feel guilty about leaving them unattended while we go to work.

Again, I’ll keep you updated and expect to see lots of cute doggy pictures on here soon.

Now on to the business side of things and the reason why I’ve been so quiet on this blog lately.

Well as regular readers will know, this blog details the different ways I have found of making money online mixed in with some personal posts about life in general and my hobbies and experiences etc.

If you’ve been following me for any length of time you’ll know that I decided to go freelance and work from home in 2010 with my own Virtual Assistant business.

As the business became a success I also decided to create a product showing how to set up and run the exact type of business that I have now and I call it The Guru Buddy System!

I launched the product and had great success selling it and teaching it to others and it was a massive confidence boost to receive so many kind emails and feedback about the course – particularly since 2010 was a very bad year for lousy products being foisted on to the unsuspecting market.

Many new people (newbies) turning to online marketing for an income got seriously short changed last year with some of the crap they purchased but I’m happy to say that I believe that this is a trend that is starting to change as people recognise the value of their email address and are unsubscribing in their droves from the crappy so called guru’s lists.

Of course this makes it all the more difficult for the genuine marketers now as people are becoming a lot more wary and more discerning in their purchases which can only be a good thing.

Incidentally, if you want any tips on how to find a genuine marketer then please download my free report ‘Newbies Beware’ which can be found on this blog.

So 2010 was a bad year for crap products but that’s not to say that there aren’t some really first class courses out there and some really genuine and trustworthy marketers too.

I’m happy to say that I have managed to secure 2 more clients for my own VA business whose products I would happily recommend to my own family – that being one of the personal provisos I have when evaluating products for recommendation.

So this is the reason why I have been absent lately, busy supporting my new clients and actually putting my own Guru Buddy System to the test and using it to grow my income and I can honestly say that I’ve never been happier.

So it’s onwards and upwards for 2011 got some great content planned for this blog so stay tuned folks!

    Hi Eddy,

Great to see you posting on here agin. Its been far too long.

I look forward to keeping up-to-date with the developments, and read more of your posts. It sounds like you have got a lot to look forward to this year.

You mentioned in your post that business is going well, and you talked about what has been stopping you from posting more to this blog (you’re too busy making money!)

But I didn’t get a sense of what business direction you are going in this year? Will there be more products from you in 2011? Will you be offering any coaching?

Are you looking at a different direction altogether?

Nosey people like me want to know! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you’re well mate. Will catch you soon.

I’m planning on doing another post very soon which will go into more detail on what I’d like to do in 2011 – it includes a very strange niche market indeed….it’s at the ideas stage at the minute but anyway, I won’t spoil it by going into it to all now so stay tuned ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi Eddy

Great to see you back. I was only thinking the other day that I hoped all was well.

Just to say that I brought your Guru Buddy system last year and got a copy of your Newbies book. They came at just the right time for me as I had been bumping into a lot of scam artists in my quest for an on-line business.

I was really refreshing a meet a ‘good guy’. The info you passed on pointed me in the right direction and I am starting to make progress and have a number of sites up and running now.

So a belated thanks for your help, and good luck with everything you have planned in 2011…..especially the dogs (I have 2 welsh springers, couldn’t be without them).

Hello Dave and thanks for your kind comments.

I’m so pleased that my information helped…even if it was only in some small way, after all it’s not just about earning money which is a soulless pursuit, it’s about helping people if you can.

It makes my day to recieve comments like this so many thanks.

    Hi Eddy

Happy belated New Year to you and all your followers.
I too am on the same diet as you (including the see-food diet before Xmas), and I have lost 9 pounds so far.

You’ve tempted me now with your comment about the products you would happily recommend to your own family… come on spill the beans!

    Cheers Ian

      Hello Ian

Thanks for commenting and all the best to you for 2011 too.

Well done on losing the weight, it’s just common sense to eat smaller portions and move around a bit more isn’t it.

Stay tuned for more info about the IM products, bean spilling to commence soon ๐Ÿ˜‰

Happy New Year as well Eddy!

Great to hear from you, as well as reading about how things are going!

Hope 2011 brings you and your family as much success as which was bestowed upon thee during 2010!

PS: Still trying to get your GBS to work…been sending out email after email (50 or 60 so far) and not getting any responses..Guess you’re getting all the work! LOL!

      Hello Ray

Thanks for commenting and best wishes to you and yours too ๐Ÿ™‚

To be honest, 50 or 60 emails is very little….I was sending out around 20 a day when I looked for work but then I had been made redundant and with the threat of Amanda my partner also facing redundancy it did kind of light a fire under my arse and cause me to be highly motivated.

Persistance is the key to success Ray, just tell your self that you are never going to give in until you get a result.

I love to think about the story of Sylvester Stallone when he was hawking the script of Rocky around various film companies and got rejection after rejection – he decided never to give up until he had achieved his goal.

I think the story is on YouTube somehwere, might be worth watching.
