Talking Potatoes, A Hug From My Late Father & An Invitation To An Indian Sari Party.

The dream started off normally enough…

There was I sprawled out on the sofa of my old childhood home having a quick power nap (something I enjoy quite a lot) with not a care in the world and in walked my late father beaming from ear to ear, arms outstretched & motioning to me for a hug.

This was quite surprising really as he wasn’t given to frequent grand gestures of emotion when he was alive which I suppose made them all that more special when he did demonstrate them 🙂

So I was in the middle of my (cough) manly hug with my dad when I heard a knocking at the door. I opened the door to find a beautiful young Indian woman smiling back at me.

It was at this point that I noticed I was wearing nought but a thin duvet cover worn off the shoulder a-la-Greek God style ( I wish) and the Indian lady began to talk to me.

Now for the naughty minded of you out there I’m sorry to disappoint but the dream didn’t go in the direction you’re probably thinking even though it does sound like a scene from a bad porn movie…erm…I’d imagine 😉

No, she clocked me wearing the duvet cover and proceeded to tell me about a Sari party she was holding next door and would I like to attend. I was about to answer when all of a sudden there was a terrible ruckus outside my front gate which distracted me.

A small boy with a terrified look on his face was banging at the gate and asking for help, he explained that he was being chased by…wait for it…a giant potato!

I told the boy to calm down and then looked to my left to see …well, a giant potato running up the path with an angry expression on it’s erm..face.

I stepped in between the boy and the potato and called for calm so we could sort this out. At this point I produced a potato peeler from my pocket and waved it in front of the irate spud in a threatening manner in order to quell the disruption and assert my authority.

The potato proceeded to explain how the boy had been teasing him mercilessly and as he continued to explain I soon decided that he had indeed been cruelly victimised by the boy.

At this point the potato burst into tears and I comforted him. My father and I carried him into our garden where we lay him down on a nice green bed of grass and left him to rest with a promise to come back and councel him some more.

There the dream ended and I awoke and sat bolt upright with a loud exclamation of “What the F*&@k was that all about”.

So…what the hell WAS that about? why have I regaled you on my blog with a story about my (worrying) unconscious mental processes? and what the heck has it got to do with Internet marketing and making money from home?

Well to be honest, I just wanted to write about something else than making money online in an attempt to amuse and divert you dear reader.

I did start this blog waaaay back in 2007 with the intention of documenting my progress of starting up a home business and earning a full time living from home and it was my intention to show you how I did it so you could possibly follow in my footsteps.

Well here’s the thing…..now that I’ve been somewhat successful with that experiment and I now DO work full time from home, I just want to vary the content of this blog. You see talking about making money all the time is booooring!

Personally I think there’s nothing more soulless than banging on about making money all the time and I love to read blogs authored by my contemporaries in the field of Internet Marketing  that have an all round theme NOT ones which just go on about the latest greatest software tool or make money or save money scheme.

This is why the subheading of my blog says….

Life, Making Money From Home, VA Services, Top Advice From An Honest, Ethical Marketer & Well . . . . Just A Bloody Nice Chap!

I’m so much more than my job and making money is just a small part of my life – an important part yes because it pays my bills but it isn’t the be all and end all of Eddy Rush!

So, there you have it.

To balance this craziness out I promise that my next blog post WILL veer more towards the subject of making money and I plan to tell you what I’ve been doing in these past months since my last blog post way back in July…sorry I’ve been so quiet.

Anyway, to finish off on the subject of crazy dreams, here’s a clip of one of my all time favourite TV shows: Father Ted.

Enjoy and…sweet dreams!

    Hi Edward,
Great blog, although slightly bizarre dream. Original, I guess.
Would be good to know how you are faring. I have just started John’s course (week 6) and finding it useful. There’s been plenty of support from other forum members.
    Kind regards
    Gareth

    Hello Edward!

I have to say I enjoyed reading your latest post. Half way through it I was scratching my head a bit wondering where it was all going. You are right though, its good to bring in a bit of good ol fun into one’s blog every once in a while. Some of my posts can get pretty darn forward and I try to inject some sense of fun into them when I can. Thank you for this wonderful post. Even though it had nothing to do with IM, it was a great read nonetheless. Cheers!

PS. As I am just starting out myself, I would love to hear your story and how you got where you are now in your business.

You don’t just have to talk about making money…you could also talk about marketing. Your post demonstrated the first part of the AIDA principal in a slightly surrealist way but nonetheless for people with time to join the dots it is a fairly intriguing introduction.

Well, I too wondered where all of this was going but I have to say it was entertaining. You answer some of my questions as I am in Sara’s programs. Keep making people laugh, this internet stuff is not easy .
